Blank Piece of Paper

When Morgan and I were at the Colour Conference at Hillsong in March, Pastor Brian Houston spoke one night on breakthrough, opportunity, and blessing. It was one of the most life giving messages I've ever heard. At the end of the message he spoke about vision, insight, and dreams. Then he read this verse:

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run that reads it. - Habakkuk 2:2

He then challenged each of us to take a blank piece of paper and ask God to brighten our eyes. To write it down and make it plain. To not think too small with the mentality of a persecuted remnant.

This is my heart. This is what I saw. This is what I wrote:

Brighten my eyes!

I see God's people awakening from a slumber. Rising up to fulfill their purpose in life. Their eyes being opened to the TRUTH and LIFE. Realizing that what they once thought they knew was just the tip of the iceberg and that Satan had them trapped.

Trapped in what they thought was right. Trapped in religion, trapped in escaping religion, but also leaving Jesus and His great commission behind. Trapped in the American dream. Trapped in churches that are coddling their members instead of challenging them and training them. Trapped in being good enough. Trapped in the wrong interpretation of suffering for Christ. Trapped in living for the moment instead for eternity. I could go on.

I see women declaring and speaking truth over their families and friends lives. Commanding Satan to get behind them and taking up their weapons of faith. Walking onto the battlefield EVERY SINGLE DAY with a plan and a purpose. I see men stepping into their roles as leaders and bringing their women along side of them. Declaring God's love over their families, friends, church, businesses.

I see God's church waking up. Moving beyond the ordinary into the extraordinary. Declaring HIS great works over all the earth. From generation to generation.

The great things we read in The Bible were not just for "Bible Times." Are we not God's people? His babies? Just like those we read about? The Bible says we will see greater things.

What are we waiting for???

As I sat in our hotel room that night, writing on my blank piece of paper, the words just poured out. It truly is my heart, my passion, my desire. I honestly am believing in faith that I will see these things come to pass while I am here on earth.

My challenge for you is to ask God to brighten your eyes, write down your vision, and run with it. It doesn't have to be like what I wrote. Maybe you need to write your vision for your business, or your dreams, or just something that's been on your mind. It doesn't matter. It's completely up to you. But, there's just something about writing it down. Even if you don't share it with anyone, you have declared it by writing it.
