It's Been a Month & Summertime Blogging Blues

My book is one month old. It's been A MONTH! Well, more than a month but clearly I'm so on top of things these days {NOT}. I can't believe it's already been a month but at the same time, I feel like The Simplicity Project has always been part of me. Weird. I guess writing a book really IS like having a baby.

And, guess what. I am SO PROUD of my baby! People are responding well and I've gone through three of my own shipments already. Ok. Enough about the book.

I owe you all an apology. I SUCK at blogging. I know. I'm trying. But I think I have the summertime blues. I mean in the blogging world anyways. I want to blog. I want to write. But I just really want to "do summer" ya know? I want to be by the pool, sipping on a cold drink. And now, I'm gone for almost three weeks. Three weeks. I should be able to write another book, right? WRONG! You guys. I can't even.

Maybe my summertime blues are being caused in part by my oldest starting high school this year. HOW do I have a high schooler already? He was just born. Like, yesterday. Ugh. It makes me so sad. But I'm loving this time with him. Seeing the man he's becoming. I just can't believe I only have four more years with him. Hold me.

Anywho, to get me out of the funk I thought I'd just blabber to you all. Because I KNOW you all want to know what I'm up to and can't believe I haven't posted anything in for like ever {note the sarcasm}. And sometimes when I blabber I think of better things to write about.

I'm currently sitting in a hotel room in San Jose trying to get "work" done while I sip on iced coffee and watch Friends. I'm here for the Blogher conference with my good friend Kerstin and can't wait to start meeting people and learning more about blogging and all of the craziness that makes up the internets. Maybe I'll even learn how to be a more consistent blogger. Let's hope.

In other news, I'm working on a bible study to accompany The Simplicity Project. There are several groups of friends and bible study groups that are working through the book together and have requested it. It's actually something I considered doing but was going to wait a bit. I guess God has other plans sometimes. This is not something I'm taking lightly so we'll see how quick I can get it out to you guys. I'm praying over it. Pressing in to see what God wants me to share, not what I want to share. I covet your prayers.

I guess that's about it for now. I HAVE actually thought of a few things I want to write about for you guys but you'll just have to wait ;)
