The journey of raising a family is ever winding and has enough mountaintops and valleys to make your head spin. But far and above the trials and stress, is the joy. And the joy is exhilarating. Being mom to my three kids is by far the greatest thing I’ve ever done.

18 Years

I’ve been a mom for almost eighteen years now. Well, I guess I can technically say eighteen years since I was pregnant with Parker eighteen years ago. I would never have imagined, in my wildest dreams, the wonder of watching a baby grow into a child, then into a teenager, and finally becoming an adult.

Even more wonderful? Watching three different little humans become exactly who they were created to be.

If I dwell on the fact that my babies are becoming adults for too long, I’ll be in a puddle of tears so I’ll keep this short and sweet.

Soak. It. In.

I know everyone will say this to you when you’ve got littles around your...

Lately: December 2017 Edition

When I started blogging four years ago, it was my intention to share a little bit of what's going on in my day-to-day life with whoever cared to read about it. As most of you know, our lives took a drastic turn in 2014 in the best possible way. That was the year  I wrote a book. That was the year I created a planner. The year our life went in a completely different direction than I ever would have dreamed but we are oh so thankful it did!

Since then, our lives have revolved around "the planner" and running a business we knew absolutely nothing about. This meant that some of my passions fell to the wayside even though my heart's desire was to continue on that original path.

So here I am. Almost exactly three years later with the same dream in my heart. To help YOU find your purpose. To inspire YOU to live your dreams. And to equip YOU to live those out. I'll be bringing you monthly updates on what goes on around here in hopes to show you that I'm...

The Best Skinny Margarita Recipe - Natural & Low Carb

home life Aug 25, 2017

My hubby and I are big fans of skinny margaritas but not big fans of artificial sweeteners and pre-made mixes. We've tried our fair share of skinny margaritas and Ryan has come up with the best skinny margarita recipe ever! He's actually becoming quite famous among friends and family. Friends are slightly disappointed if he shows up to a party without his skinny margs in tow.

The key to a good skinny margarita is a smooth tequila. We prefer Costco's brand of Tequila Silver but any good silver or blanco tequila will do. The smoother the tequila, the less sugar you'll need. The next step is a good lime juice. I honestly don't feel like squeezing my own so we opt for Nellie and Joe's Key West Lime Juice. We also prefer the taste of simple syrup so we buy organic sugar and make our own. Simply bring one cup of water and one cup of sugar to a boil and remove from heat. You can use agave if you'd like but we simply don't like the taste of it in this margarita.

Optimize Your Instagram Profile Link and Increase Traffic

Optimize Instagram

Are you tired of having to update your Instagram profile link just to have it send traffic to another website? I have the perfect solution to optimize your Instagram profile link and increase traffic to your website at the same time. Since I implemented this solution I have increased my traffic by 70%!

About a month ago, I had been searching for some sort of landing page to send my Instagram followers to and found a pretty popular service that a lot of influencers were using. It was very user friendly and you could update it with links pretty quickly. I set it up in just a few minutes and was excited to start sending people there.

And then it dawned on me. I was sending MY traffic to someone else's site! Umm. No. Why would I send my audience to another site in hopes of them clicking back to my own site or affiliate link?

How many times have you shared a link on Instagram only to share a different one the next day. When a viewer sees your previous post and clicks on...

Just Breathe

family life simplicity Aug 08, 2017

The weight of it all is sometimes too much to bear. Sometimes too much to even catch your breath. When the phone call comes, when the bills pile up, when the report isn’t what you’d hoped, when a loved one’s heart is broken. When your heart is broken. When failure is knocking at the door.

Sometimes it’s all you can do. Just breathe.

But what about those times when it’s not too much to carry and you just keep going and going, forgetting to step away. Forgetting to just breathe and surrender? Saying yes to every opportunity. Saying yes to the endless list of to-dos and errands and business ventures? Those are the times you have to force yourself to breathe.

The last few years have been nothing short of crazy. Our lives were flipped upside down in the best possible way. It didn’t take long for me to realize that even though I was well equipped to carry what God had given me, I still couldn’t do it all and do it all on my own. I had to learn to...

Happiness is a daily decision

family life Jul 28, 2017

Happiness is a daily decision.

I'm happy.

No you're not.

Yes. I'm happy.

Not really though.

I'm really truly happy! And I'm not having this conversation anymore.

Final answer and I shut her down.

But she's not my mom or my husband or my best friend. She's me. And I'm sick of having to convince her that we are happy.

On paper we're amazing. We define #blessed (most misused hash tag ever by the way.) The husband, the job, the kids. The life. But paper isn't ever perfect. We don't put on paper the little struggles or the fact we always allow them to become bigger than they’re worth. And we sure aren’t showing anyone the monsters that hover outside the perfect front door of our perfect house.

What if you get sick?

What if your kids get sick?

What if you loose your job?

What if you LOOSE IT ALL?

All those, could be, cant be, dear-Lord-please-don’t-let-it-it-be, fears that keep us from really truly experiencing happy.

See, You're afraid.

No I’m not.

Yes you are.

No...

7 Reasons We Changed Essential Oil Brands: Rocky Mountain Oils

family health life Jul 21, 2017

A few years ago, one of my friends turned me onto essential oils. I’ve used them pretty consistently ever since but have been on the search for a high quality Essential Oil that was not part of a multi level marketing company. (Disclaimer: Please don't think I'm against MLMs. There are some great companies out there. With anything I use, I just truly always want to find the best option at the best price)

For the last few years, I've used both of the big oil MLMs (DoTerra and Young Living) and was very happy with both. What I wasn’t happy with was the fact that I would have to order something every month to stay active and get the best pricing. I just don’t like that kind of commitment and quite honestly I don’t need to buy oils every month. Plus, I thought their shipping was a little over-priced.

So, began my search. I do know that I should only be using the highest quality oils so I wasn't going to just jump on Amazon and buy some cheap oil. I still wanted...

10 Summer Essentials

10 Summer Essentials

It's almost time for my favorite season of the year! You might be thinking, "She lives in Southern California. Isn't it summer all the time?" I thought the same thing until I lived here! Yes, it is sunny pretty much year round with little to no rain. But the temperatures are much cooler than a warm summer day by the pool or at the beach.

Believe it or not, summer is just around the corner. Maybe sooner for some of us, but either way, as soon as the hot rays start beaming, you will want to head out in the sun well prepared. Here are 10 poolside essentials for you to walk out ready for a relaxing, summer day!

10 Summer Essentials

Vacation Beach TowelEveryone needs a beach towel! Because it's no fun heading to the pool or the sand short a towel. I remember so many times that has happened and everyone is fighting over who get one. I absolutely love this one by Bando!

Swan Pool FloatI absolutely LOVE the pool floats that are popular right now. Does anyone else wonder why we never thought of...

Celebrating Moms on Mother's Day

faith family life May 12, 2017

Mother's Day, Celebrating Moms on Mother's Day, celebrate, women

There is something to be said for celebrating moms on Mother's Day. It wasn't until I became a mom that I really understood what it means to be one (no kidding!). I remember holding my baby #1 for the first time and this overwhelming, sacrificial love came over me. I haven't been the same since.

From the time of pregnancy, to caring for my little ones, to picking up toys, and tending to sickies, there is so much a mother does that goes unseen. No crowd is standing there cheering you on. You don't get trophies when your kid's school project costs you time and money. There isn't acceptable excuses when it comes to putting dinner on the table and having the cabinets well-stocked with snacks. Being a mom is the most rewarding and probably draining job in the world. That's why I think it's important we practice celebrating moms this Mother's Day.

Most often, we rush to the store for last minute cards and flowers. Sigh out of obligation. Kids rant, "Why isn't there a Kid's Day?!" Gifts...
